Weekly Meeting report 03 March 2008

Report by Secretary, PP Don

1.President Precha opened the meeting and acting Sergeant at Arms Rtn John Coughtrie introduces visiting Rotarians and guests (Rotarian Stephen was on business in Phuket).

2. President Precha invites Rotarians and Guests to dinner.

3. Wolfgang Mindesjahn proposed our Club and Bangkok South install a water purification plant in a local school in the Pattaya area. We will ask Rtn Printhaorn and Rtn Suwana to oversee this project for our club as they are in the water business and will chair the committee.
We will arrange to send a water sample to the Bangkok South office for testing and compose a detailed map of the school location. A complete form will be sent to our Rotarian partners to accept the responsibility of this project and maintain the machine to the best of our ability.

2. PP Niels did not have any update report for the ongoing matching grant with our sister Korean club.

3. President Elect Gerard was not present to report on our Charity fund raiser.

4. Our club will subsidize the District conference for 10,000 expenses to members and transportation to Nakorn Phanom. Arrangement for the van to leave the Town in Town Hotel on the 7th of March at 08:00 am.

5. Rtn Ossi reported about the Charity Golf tournament in May to be postponed till May or June as the expenses for the links would be very high if not covered by sponsors or advertising.
Final details will be proposed to an action committee on needed players and prizes.

6. Peace monument rejuvenation will be submitted to Board as to expenses and maintenance.

7. PP Wolfgang ask all members to support our water project by a survey of needy schools in this area as Bangkok South wants to help as many schools as possible through available sponsors.
