Report by Secretary, PP Don
1.President Precha opened the meeting and acting Sergeant at Arms Rtn John Coughtrie introduces visiting Rotarians and guests (Rotarian Stephen was on business in Phuket).
2. President Precha invites Rotarians and Guests to dinner.
3.President Preecha explains of the proposed Golf tournament, chairman Ossi. Possible venues were approached to help sponsor this coming event on the 22 may 2008. Basic booking of the Burapha golf course for one day is 120,000 baht but further bargaining will be approached by President Preecha, PDG Jin, PP Viwat, Rtn Ossi. PDG Cin responded as to the difficulty in arranging such an event to get sponsors and players as there are more competitions in this area. PP Niels noted that Rtn Ossi is a golf pro and has many tournaments to his credit and a good following for such a tournament.
3.President elect Gerard was excused and did not report on the proposed painting exhibition project.
4.Assistant District Governor elect Don Maclachlan reported on the training of the district Committees in their duties and goals. Don noted as to the Theme for next year will be “MAKE DREAMS REAL".
5.PDG reported about the warm feelings in the charter night of the new Rotary club of Ban Ple Samet, Rayong. The meeting was attended with over 300 guests and PRIP Bichai Ratanakul was present to present the Charter documents and wish the club good luck.
6.Secretary Don announced the upcoming Charter night of the Rotary club of Phoenix at the Montien Hotel on the 1 March at 19:00 pm. Eleven of our members will attend.
7.Guest speaker Pravit Pooikasemwalakul, Manager of Bangkok Bank on Second Road, spoke of the banks willingness to assist the foreign community in their banking transactions and the banks position to promote Bangkok bank's position in the Pattaya community.
8.Visiting Jomtien Rotarian Christer Nilsson spoke of his warm welcome by our club members and enjoyed the meal, with the good fellowship.
9.President Preecha closed the meeting.
