Meeting report by Secretary, PP Don
President Preecha opened the meeting with the Thai National anthem.
President Preecha invites all to buffet dinner.
1. International chairman PP Niels informed members of the up coming visit by our Korean sister club on the following days:
a. Advance group on the 27 Nov 2007
b. Main group on the 30Nov 2007
c. Visit to computer recipicant schools on the 3 Dec 2007
1.1 We will exchange Sister Club documents and gifts for Korean Sister Club at our meeting on 3 December.
1.2 Senior club members, PDG Jin and PP Praphan will receive outstanding Father of the Year awards at Samitivij hospital on 6 Dec at 08:30 am.
2. Police Chief Noppadol was called to attend his police duties and could not receive his honorary membership to our club tonight but will attend on the 3 Dec 2007.
3. Club members discussed functions for the King’s birthday on the 5 Dec 2007. We will finalize meeting and duties on the 3 Dec 2007.
4. PP Niels updated the schools that will receive the computer and suggests we visit the school by our members.
5. Secretary Don gave an update on our Welcome to Pattaya Rotary sing on Sukhumvit Road. City hall has given us more details on the various locations of the sign but not a firm approval as yet.
6. President John of the Taksin club is still in critical condition and has been moved to a Bangkok hospital for further observation. RC Taksin Pattaya will hold a raffle for an automobile and other prizes during a Christmas charity dinner on the 15 Dec 2007 at the Amari Hotel. Raffle tickets for the automobile are limited to 600 and will be 2,000 Baht each.
6.1 Rotary club of Jomtien will be having a dinner party for Christmas and all are welcome.
6.2 Cholburi Rotary club President Tosapon invited all members to SOW THE SEEDS OF LOVE Fellowship night,attended by Past International President Bichai Ratakul at the Sri Niyom Restaurant on the 6 Dec 2007 18:00 pm. President Bichai will receive cash or clothing donations for the Rotary Club of Cholburi.
6.3 PP Nicky Feldman from Haifa-Moriah Club, District 2490 Israel spoke of her club’s activities and her tenure as Club President. She said she will honor our club when she gets back home by toasting our club. PP Nicky and President Preecha exchanged Club banners.
6.4 President Tosapon of the Rotary Club of Cholburi exchanged banners with President Preecha.
6.5Rotarian Wolf presented President Preecha with banners that he had received from the Rotary Clubs of Bad Mergentheim and Rotaler Baderdreieck which he had received during his recent travels.
6.6Rotarian Jahir spoke about the terrible recent cyclone in Bangladesh where thousands of people have died. A collection was made during the meeting where 11,270 Baht was raised. The club will increase this amount to 15,000 Baht which will be forwarded to one of the Rotary Clubs in the affected area for use as they deem fit.
President Preecha closed the meeting with the playing of the Kings anthem.
