On 17 August 2007 the District Governor of District 3340, Doctor Anon Jirachawala, mae an official visit to the Rotary Club of Pattaya. He was welcomed at the Maneesab Room, Town in Town Hotel, Central Pattaya Road by President of the Rotary Club of Pattaya, President Preecha Peethong and other Rotarian members.
One of the duties of the District Governor is to go around his District visiting the various Rotary Clubs. Before he came to Pattaya, he had already visited the Rotary Club of Sriracha and the Rotary Club of Laemchebang.
During the official visit, the Rotary Club of Pattaya hosted a dinner party to welcome the District Governor. The event was also attended by Rotarians from Sriracha and Laem Chabang.
Doctor Anon Jirachawala made a speech about how important it is to increase membership of Rotary and how he had managed to substantially increase the number of members at his home club in Buri Ram. He also said that his home club was very interested in becoming a sister club with the Rotary Club of Pattaya. Later, the presidents of all three clubs attending that evening presented a souvenir to the District Governor.
The evening also included musical entertainment with many members also showing their singing skills.
A birthday celebration was then held for all members of the Rotary Club of Pattaya who had birthdays in August.
This evening replaced the usual weekly meeting that was due to be held on Monday 20 August 2007.
