Summary Meeting Report 06 August 2007

1. President Precha opens meeting

2. Sergeant at Arms Steve introduces visiting Rotarians and guests.

President Preecha invites members and guest to buffet dinner.

3. P.P. Chalor said that the Siriracha party was attended by 6 of our members and hoped that more could attend in the future to know our neighbor club better.

4. President Preecha advised all committee chairmen that the District Governor will be visting us on the 17 th of Aug and the club plan should be submitted at that time.

5. Rtn John Blair gave his view point of the Fellowship party at Ban Buang club and noted that the 9 course meal was the best. He also noted that the comradeship of the clubs were what a true Rotarian who joins the club was to make good friends and serve the community.

6. President Preecha advised the members to wear our blue shirt for the District Govorner’s visit on the 17 of Aug with the presentation of our club plan to the Governor. The 20 Aug meeting will be transferred to the 17 the of Aug.

7. Membership development seminar at the Town in town on the 18 Aug at 08:30 through 16:00 for all members. The registration fee is 300 which includes two coffee breaks and a buffet lunch. Seminar led by District Governor and two English speaking instructors.

8. Secretary Don informed member that there will be no meeting on the 13 th as it is a public holiday for the Queen’s birthday on the 12 of Aug.

9. Treasurer Prapan informed the members of the semi-annual dues of 4000 Baht plus 500 Baht for the International magazine Rotarians to the Foreign members which is optional to all members. Rtn Michael O’Brian mentioned that he has not received any magazine as of this year. Rtn Steve said that we need to ensure that members correct addresses are being used.

10. Strident exchange student J.G. and his father, Rtn Johan gave us a slide show of his home clubs project in South Africa to help the handicapped to have a proper school and education. The handicapped do not get any support from the government and are left to make a life by themselves,. Rrn Chris commented that perhaps we should try to assist their efforts in this worthy project.

11. Other matters
Rotarian Des gave an update of the autoshow event. He said that City Hall had confirmed availability of the Pattaya Sports Center for 24 November. Main car dealers are being approached as well as various other car clubs and motor organizations.
Pattaya People and Pattaya Trader have agreed to assist with publicity. Pattaya People radio have also agreed to broadcast a live show from the autoshow.
The big banner company have agreed to source sponsors for them and to produce banners.
Les and Judith have agreed to approach accessory shops, President Precha and John Blair car dealers, John Blair motorcycle clubs, Theo car clubs and Bob food concessions.
The organizers of the event were asked put all the plans into a combined document produced in Thai and English so that the full implications and benefits of the show can be understood by all.
