President Precha opens meeting

PP Boonsurb inform member of his mother’s death and invites members to attend the funeral on the 25 of July. PP Praphan has arranged for a van to meet at the Town in Town Hotel at 16:00 to travel to Bangkok and return the same evening. The club will accept the expenses for the van and flowers.
Report by Rotarian John Coughtrie on the progress of the Vintage car special meeting at 18:00 today. the venue was visited by the committee and the Space available is very large 4,800 sq meters inside and an additional outside area of double that size of 10,000 sq meters. The initial expenses to rent the Indoor stadium would be approximately 150,000 per day and a deposit of 50,000 baht . This would to cover the grounds expenses, electricity and water. If we charge 50,000 per inside sponsor we would need 10 main sponsors to cover our overhead. Further plans will be established to consider the project for our club.
Laurence and John Blair will be investigating main sponsors this coming weeks to get the feel of the automobile businesses in our Vintage car show and their views and participation.
Deputy Secretary Anna will get our club a list of Vintage car club in Thailand and to promote our project on her radio station FM 103 Pattaya Bay Radio.
Assistant governor Tawatchai informed us of the upcoming Governor’s visit to our club next month.
All member should wear the club shirt and be in attendence to meet our new Governor Arnon for 2007/2008.
President Preecha asked all members to meet with their respective chairmen to Plan for the next year’s club plan in their areas of responsibltlty.
PP Niels informed the meeting that he,as International chairman will plan to have an ongoing matching grant with the Korean club to purchase additional computers for local schools and needy institutions in the Chol Buri area.
Secretary Don informed the members of a group of 25 Rotarians from Cochin, India will attend our meeting on the 27 of Aug 2007 and we should possibly arrange a family day on the island with them on a first class boat from the Royal Cliff Hotel, all expenses would be 560 baht for each guest including a buffet meal and transportation to island for a day in the sun.
Rotarian Jon Macdonald informed all member s that he was hosting a birthday party on the 27 of Aug at his Jomtien bar, The Hideaway, located in the Jomtien complex, first soi on the left coming from Pattaya.
Secretary Don informs the members of upcoming fellowship, celebrating their 28th year anniversary at Ban Bung on the 3 Aug 2007 at 18:30 by President Warin a third year as President.
