Saturday July 25th 2006 saw the combined celebration of two big events. These were the first Fellowship night for the Rotary Club of Pattaya for the new Rotary year, 2006–2007, coupled with the birthday of the newly elected President for the Rotary Club of Pattaya, President Niels Colov.
The venue was the very popular Jameson’s The Irish Pub located within the Nova Park Apartments behind Central Pattaya Road.
Over three hundred people attended the celebrations and all areas located within Jameson’s were filled to overflowing with party revelers.
The Rotary club Fellowship side of the evening encompassed two main events, these being the introduction of the new Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of Pattaya for the year 2006-2007 as shown.
Another cause for celebration was the ‘pinning’ presentation for Local TRS 103.0 FM radio DJ and Rotarian Alexander Valentine, with his Rotary badge. This made Alexander the first new member to join the Rotary Club of Pattaya this Rotary year, and for one brief moment in time, the newest Rotarian in the World!
There room was filled with important guests, among them Pattaya Mayor Niran Wattanasartsathorn, many of the Deputy Mayors and City councilors, Presidents and club representatives from various clubs and associations in Pattaya, Chiefs or their representatives of the Pattaya, Banglamung, Immigration & Tourist Police, representatives of the Pattaya Court, General Managers or their representatives from all the major hotels in the area, representatives from the Pattaya Prison and various other government institutions, and a great number of VIP's from the private sector.
Also present were many photographers and members of the media, as well as members of many Rotary clubs on the Eastern Seaboard and other parts of Thailand, among them president Rene Clausen and Rotarians from our sister club in Bangkok, the Rotary Club of Bangkapi.
