Rotary Club of Pattaya assists Mercy Center December 2007

 :

On Saturday 01 and Wednesday 05 December 2007 the Rotary club of Pattaya assisted the Pattaya Mercy Center with collections outside Pattaya Supermarkets.

The Mercy Children's Home caters for ‘Children at Risk’.
The children’s home/shelter protects and provides for children who are ‘at risk’ in our community, because or either direct abuse or abuse by severe neglect.
Mercy’s team of dedicated care givers provide, a clean safe home, good food, medical care, clothing, education and lots of love to all the children.
Their onsite Early Learning Centre provides pre-school training for those 1 1/2 to 4 years, when they can enter the regular Thai school system.
In the time that they have been operating Mercy has provided care for nearly 50 children and presently care for about 18 children ranging in age from 18 months to almost 14.
Mercy Center Children’s home is a licensed care centre with approval to care for up to 30 children, and has facilities to care for up to 50. Mercy is pleased to be a member of ‘Pattaya Plan’, a group of government departments and NGOs working together to meet the needs of children and youth in the city.

They have been raising funds for almost 2 years in order to buy the Mercy Center to ensure a secure home for the children in their care and a base for our other projects.
Time is running out…they need to have a further 10m baht by the end of January in order to buy the property at a pre-agreed price.
The Rotary Club of Pattaya decided to hold collections outside Pattaya Supermarkets and are gratefull for permission being granted by the individual locations.
On Saturday 01 December 2007 we were outside Villa Market Supermarket, The Avenue shopping Mall on Second Road and then on Wednesday 05 December 2007 at Carrefour Supermarket on Central Pattaya Road.
Members of the public macde cash donations which will all be used by the Mercy Center to assist with the purchase of the home.
