Just after 8:30am on a bright Sunday morning I arrived at the Dianne Golf driving Range and Resort, Pattaya to be met by Rotarians Les & Judith Edmonds and we set about getting our stall ready for the Rotary Club of Pattaya.

The fair opened at 10:00am to a fanfare from the main arena and we were joined by Rotarian Theo and awaited our first visitors! It was a very hot day which attracted many people and we were soon busy with our games that attracted many children and parents, this continued throughout the day with Les and Theo having to leave early afternoon we were joined by Rotarian Willy who had just completed his nightshift as a Foreign Police Volunteer! Members of the Rotary Club of Pattaya are certainly flexible and contribute to our community!
The day progressed well with our Club Secretary, Rotarian Don regaling the passers by with tales and encouraging them to part with some money! Throughout the day various members of the Club stopped by to see how we were doing and by 4pm over 200 children had happily played our games with many lucky winners, to the extent that our prize table was bare!
It was time to shut up shop and head for home after what had been a very enjoyable experience seeing the delight on the children’s faces and knowing that our club had contributed to their happiness whilst raising the profile of the Rotary Club of Pattaya to the community.

After completing the accounts we were very happy on Monday 10th September at the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Pattaya held in the Town in Town hotel to present the Club with the princely sum of 8032 baht! Not bad for a project that was only considered two weeks before and put together at minimum expense! Lessons were also learnt by us and if we decide to repeat the project next year we are already gathering some new and innovative ideas for games!
