Children's Day, Saturday 13th January 2007

Children’s Day in Thailand is a much regarded and important day. It is the time when children, especially ones from less well off backgrounds, are given treats that they would not normally be able to enjoy.

On the morning of Children’s Day, Saturday 13th January 2007, some of the Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Pattaya went to hand out presents and candy to the local children in front of Pattaya City Hall, while others visited the Mercy Centre, North Pattaya, which is run by Fred & Dianne Doell, with gifts of much needed fruit and milk for the twenty children there in need of care.

Later in the afternoon, more Rotarians visited the Pattaya Orphanage, delivering useful items such as shoes, shampoo, cartons of milk, snacks and candy and other things to the children worth 19,367 Baht.

At each visit the excited and grateful children crowded around the friendly Rotarians and everyone enjoyed the visits and the games played with the children. This will be another day that all will remember fondly.
